The nº250 "Desenho" (Portuguese for "drawing") is Viarco's classic graphite pencil, in production since the 1940s and treated as a symbol of the brand's origins (Viarco, registered in 1936, is Portugal's only pencil manufacturer, with pencil-making in the country dating back to 1907). It is a hexagonal, cedar-cased pencil finished in the line's traditional deep-red lacquer and still made in Portugal by traditional methods. Despite the "drawing" name it is sold as an all-purpose pencil for drawing, sketching and writing, offered in HB, B, H and 2H.
