The Derwent Graphic is the professional graphite drawing pencil from the Derwent Cumberland Pencil Company, whose pencil-making in Keswick, Cumbria dates to 1832 and which historically carried the "Rexel Cumberland" mark before reverting to plain Derwent branding. It is a slim hexagonal cedar pencil with a black matt lacquer finish, made in England, and is currently offered in 24 degrees from a hard, fine 9H through to a very soft 13B. The fine, highly lightfast graphite core sharpens to a point and lays down a smooth, gradable line, suiting it to sketching, tonal drawing, portraiture and technical illustration.
