Blackwing | Blackwing Matte | Soft

The Blackwing Matte is the soft, dark-graphite pencil in Blackwing's four-model core line and was the first of the modern Blackwings, introduced in 2010 by California Cedar Products under its Palomino brand. Made in Japan from California incense-cedar, its hexagonal barrel carries the softest, darkest core of the range (comparable to a 3B), which suits drawing, sketching, shading and music notation. It wears a matte black lacquer finish (also offered in green and red) and Blackwing's signature flat square ferrule holding an extendable, replaceable eraser.
