The Kita-Boshi #9900 Art Set is a boxed range of 12 drawing pencils spanning the full 4H to 6B grade ladder (4H, 3H, 2H, H, F, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B), made in Japan by Kita-Boshi Pencil Co. (founded 1913) from incense-cedar casing with a smooth, consistent graphite core. The pencils have a natural wood finish with plain black endcaps showing the grade, and the set ships in a hinged metal tin (manufacturer code 11990, ¥1,000 ex-tax). Descended from the long-running "HIT" No. 9900 drawing pencil, it is aimed at artwork and sketching as well as design, drafting and retouching work.
